Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Unleashes The Caribbean in NJ!
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor has been one of the best water parks in the area since it’s opening. It is a perfect sized water park, not too big and not too small. With ten rides, including the wave pool, lazy river and one huge kid area called Discovery Bay, you can easily walk through the park and hit every ride without killing yourself. Every single ride is supported by on-point life guards that were in the midst of their training during our visit. You and your family can relax because they have you covered, and the only danger you will be in is thrills and chills when you slide down one of the monster slides!
Six Flags Great Adventure! Our Review!
You know what's weird? Going to a place that you frequented as a teenager or a young adult with your kids. Every summer until my late twenties I went to Six Flags Great Adventure with my buddies and we ran around like lunatics trying to beat the lines, We jumped from one thrill to another, leaving as a complete and totally exhausted sweaty mess at the end but always with a smile on our faces. Well except this one time when my "friend" Adam told me that Nitro was just like every other roller coaster . It was not and I thought I was gonna die the entire time (which was like five seconds because that's how long the ride is), and hated him afterwards. But other than that particular incidence we had smiles. Adam if you are reading this, I am now mad at you again for that so beware my wrath.
Anywhoo we were invited to visit this popular tri-state go-to this weekend and we brought our son. The whole experience changed as my husband and I witnessed a place we have known and loved through our child's eyes. Instead of dashing like maniacs we strolled. We stopped to enjoy a magic show from Brad Ross which was wonderful. We enjoyed our son's enthusiasm when he stopped and said "oh my gosh look at this" or "oh wow can I go on that ride?" We got to view the theme park in a totally different light and the experience was delightful.
First off, if you think that this park isn't geared towards the younger ones you're wrong. In my mind when I think of Six Flags I think of King da Ka or the Dark Night, ooooh and Skull Mountain! They're all still there, and as per my most recent experience all still thrilling, however there are also a butt load of other more rides aimed towards the pre-Ks and in-betweens.
Our first stop was the gigantic Ferris Wheel where we enjoyed a bird's eye view of the entire park. Then we headed over to the Safari kids area where there were great rides for the kids; a fun, high flying balloon spinner, a car ride that auto-drives along the tracks and the Dropper where they strap in and do a couple of free falls. All great for the youngsters. Directly next to that is Looney Tunes
Seaport where there were swings, a mini roller coaster and three other equally exceptional rides.
From there we headed to the Congo Rapids where we cooled down as the giant rafts bumped into waves and walls, all the while splashing us silly!
After all that excitement we had some lunch at Granny's--a place we always stopped in when we made the trip. My son ordered the kids meal which was well worth the money and featured Welch's gummy snacks, Pop Crisps, applesauce, fries and two chicken fingers.
Following lunch we and headed across the park in the best possible way, traveling on the Skyway. You thought that the Ferris Wheel had the best view of the park? Ha were you mistaken! Not only do you have views but

Brad Ross at Six Flags Great Adventure NOW
We were invited to Six Flags Great Adventure to experience the Brad Ross Magic Show- which will be performing for a limited time. Brad Ross is an up and coming magician working the circuit and appearing now at Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ. His show is a take on a biography of his life and how he came to be a magician, with flashbacks of how he acted when he was young, the mistakes he made as well as the fun! One of the most touching parts of the show was when he talked about fireflies. How when you are younger you go around trying to catch them, but as the years go by you stop chasing after them. He reminds the audience to never stop chasing fireflies no matter how old you get, and then his assistants go into a beautiful dance sequence which ends with a lovely shadow box act. With music playing in the background, shadows imitate his every movement in a seemingly empty shadow box. Then out of nowhere a silhouette of a women's face appears which is followed by her breaking through the paper and out of the tiny box and onto the stage! This was a very moving and beautiful performance I will not soon forget.
One of his last tricks was when a reoccurring character of his act, the "old magician" who does not want to change the way you do magical acts, joins forces with Brad and both preformed the saw a lady in half trick--but with a twist. At the end of the trick they mix and matched the lower parts of the ladies, giving the women the wrong set of legs in the end! How rude! LOL.
It was a fantastic show but to be honest I think that no matter what Brad Ross did on stage, he would of won the crowd over. His charismatic way of speaking, his connection to the audience and the love you see in what he does is what makes him so magical.
So I will end this review with one of my favorite things that Brad said:
"There is plenty of magic in the world, you just need to open your eyes."
Thank you Six Flags for hosting us!

Hurricane Harbor Review
Boy is it starting to heat up here in the tri-state area. The sun is shining and we need ways to start to cool off! Hurricane Harbor is the answer my friends. Six Flags is the place to be for thrilling rides and family fun. Add in cooling off and that is exactly what Hurricane Harbor is!
sandwiches, and a GIGANTIC hot dog are among available items, and boy are they good! Along with those lunch and dinner items there are also snacks like humus and pretzels, and some huge, soft cookies!
