Playgrounds!

    Parks and playgrounds are so exciting for kids, and so easy on the wallet! Here is a listing of many playgrounds in Nassau County, all of which we have been to before.  Some of these are not parks, but nothing more than a playground - sometimes that's all you need! However, many of them have much more to offer.  Some are well-known, others are hidden and you may not know they existed.  All playground areas are free unless otherwise noted.

Anderson Recreation Center-111 Oceanside Road, Rockville Centre
Westwood Park-Foster Avenue & Motley Street, Malverne

Lido Beach Town Park-630 Lido Blvd, Lido Beach*
Baldwin Park-3232 S. Grand Avenue, Baldwin Harbor
Cedar Creek Park-Merrick Road, Seaford
Wantagh Park-1 King Road, just south of Merrick Road, Wantagh
Marjorie R Post Community Park-451 Merrick Road, Massapequa
John J Burns Park-4990 Merrick Road, Massapequa Park
Eisenhower Park- Merrick and Stewart Avenues (also off Hempstead Turnpike), East Meadow***
Nickerson Beach Park-880 Lido Blvd, Lido*
Centennial Playground-Chester Road, Rockville Centre
North Woodmere Park- Branch Blvd & Hungry Harbor Road, North Woodmere
Magnolia Park-Magnolia Boulevard and W. Braodway, Long Beach
Memorial Park- Woods Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, East Rockaway

*parks with beaches charge a fee from Memorial Day through Labor Day
**only Valley Stream residents may be admitted during pool hours during summer
***there are now three playgrounds here; the new one is a Let All The Children Play inclusion playground

Eisenhower Park

between Merrick and Stewart Aves in East Meadow by parking field 2

Grant Park: This gets very crowded during the week but Saturdays aren't that bad!

When: Broadway and Sheridan Ave Hewlett NY

Blumenfeld Family Park

Main St Port Washington

Shipwreck Cove Spray Park: I want to go to this one! Large play ground with slides, sprayers, and rope climb plus giant dumping water bucket lol

Where: Bay Shore Marina
Cost:$5.00 for Town of Islip residents, $10.00 for non residents

Tanner Park Spray Park

Cost: $25.00 on weekends and $15.00 on Weekdays, I don't know I haven't been, seems a bit steep

Jonathan L Lelpi Firefighter Park, Sprayers that look like fireman's hoses, and a Dalmatian dog! CUTE!

Where: Great Neck on Grace Ave
On Tuesday evenings there are live performances

Tobay Beach In Massapequa: Playground and spray area and access to Atlantic Ocean and South Oyster Bay.

You pay $10.00 if you are non-residents and non residents are only allowed to go Monday through Friday

Blumenfeld Family Park in Port Washington includes a children's garden as well as sprinkler park and playground

North Woodmere Park: non Nassau County residents get charged $10.00

Branch Blvd and Hungry Harbor Rd in North
Woodmere

East Rockaway Bay Park

Parking fee is $10 on weekends for non Nassau residents
First Ave, East Rockaway
