Amazon Originial Series Presents American Girl: Molly and Bookaboo- Streaming NOW!

I am super excited about Melody- As a American Girl fanatic myself- and cannot wait to watch this as well as Bookaboo! Review to come soon- but do not wait- watch and let us know how you like it!

“An American Girl Story – Melody 1963: Love Has To Win,” which releases on Amazon Prime Video Friday, October 21st.  Melody is a fantastic role model- encouraging everyone to follow their dreams despite adversity. The special, which is Executive Produced by Common (Selma), is based in 1963 Detroit during the civil rights movement, yet has a profound relevance today and can be a great tool for parents to start a dialogue with their children. Please find the trailer here and let me know if I can provide a screening link in advance of its debut!
About the special: Based in 1963 Detroit during the civil rights movement, Melody centers around a 10-year-old girl Melody (Martin) whose eyes are opened to the racial inequality surrounding her, including the 1963 Birmingham Church Bombing. As a result, her belief in the “indivisible” promise of our country’s Pledge of Allegiance comes into question as she challenges her teacher on the validity of this given the horrific tragedy. After an emotional journey of self-reflection, her mother gives her the courage she needs by reminding her that it’s important to “stand up for what’s right, even when it’s hard or scary.” Melody will also star Frances Fisher (Titanic) as school teacher Miss Abbot, Frankie Faison (The Wire) as Melody’s grandfather Frank Ellison, and Idara Victor (Rizzoli & Isles) as Melody’s mother Frances Ellison.      " Bookaboo, the rockin’ new Amazon Original Kids Series, “takes to the stage” on Prime Video this Friday, October 28!

Already a full-fledged international hit, Bookaboo celebrates the fun and benefits of adults and children reading together. The series follows Bookaboo as he tours the globe with his bandmates Paws and Growler, playing drums to packed stadiums of adoring fans. There’s only one hitch – Bookaboo just can’t play without a story a day! The precocious pup finds creative ways to avoid performing, leading to laugh-out-loud comedy sketches and silly songs. To empower Bookaboo to return to the stage, a different famous face appears in each episode to share a favorite story. The picture book that each celebrity guest brings in the special “bookabag” is brought to vibrant life through animation and an interactive, energetic reading that restores Bookaboo’s “bojo.”
