TMNT Meets Big Wheels! Our Review!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Big Wheel Turtle Racer is another great item that we received from Jakks Pacific! Recieving this in the mail brought back instant memories of riding around when I was a child I felt like I owned  streets (or in my case my driveway).  Now our kids can bring out their own adventures in their very own Big Wheels. Back in our day (as my bff Peter always like to say) our Big Wheels were a nice bright yellow and red, but now your children can have the same adventures with their very own Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle themed ride! This TMNT Green BW has a 16-inch front wheel that helps your child pedal like the speed demon they are, has cool sticker graphics (that you need to place on) and an adjustable seat so it can grow with your child!

Perfect for new riders, or experts the age range is  3-8 years old or up to 70 pounds, and it rides just as smooth as I remember. Not that I got on it – although I may have tried- it was a blast to see my son weaving in and out of obstacles like I did as child. He dressed up as his favorite turtle and rode around stopping Shredders minions the infamous Foot Soldiers and if you can believe it even pretended to be delivering pizza! This is THE PERFECT thing for summer days or late summer evenings, filled with playing with the kids on the block and riding around while looking for fire flies. Can you feel the nostigia? I certainly can! We loved it and we think you will too!

**We recieved this item from Jakks Pacific for review, however as always our opinions are our own. If we do not like it we will not write about it! Our opinions CANNOT be bought! Thank you so much for letting us try this amazing product!***

Wicked Cool Toy's Pulls Out All The Stops This NYTF!

Let's talk Wicked Cool Toys.  First they take over the world with the Cat Paw and now they have the items your kids will be begging for this Fall!     Clearly they are trying to take over the toy world,

This first one is HUGE- colossal, incredible, amazing and delicious! The Girl Scout Cookie Oven. That's right, no longer will you have to wait for the Girl Scouts to come a knockin' before you can get your favorite treats. This Fall you will have the ability to bake them all year long!  The oven which will sell for $59.99 bakes cookies in 15 minutes and is geared for kiddos 8 and up- and by up I mean to age 29 because I want this soooo bad.
This is only one of the amazing products that WCT is producing for the Girl Scout line.  There will also be a gorgeous cookie stand (that's right, lemonade we are running you out of town) that is easy to set up and put away.  Your child will have all the neighborhood children waiting in line for a fresh batch of butter cookies--my all time favorite.

Wild Kratts anyone? The hit PBS kids show is coming out this Fall with all the gear you will need to have your own adventure with the inclusion of the long awaited purple Aviva suit!  Now everyone can dress up and go on adventures, any day of the week with the help of Wicked Cool Toys.  Also arriving is the highly anticipated Tortuga play set.  With an opening roof, secret transport door, creature power dispenser an

The Big Toy Book The Holiday to Play Parrrrrty!

The Big Toy Book   The Holiday to Play Parrrrrty!

Wow what an amazing day I had at the beautiful Hearst Building in NYC for The Big Toy Books presents The Holiday To Play.  I was one of the 100 lucky bloggers able to attend this exclusive--but more importantly fun--event to introduce the public to the toys your kids will want this holiday season!  From 0-adult there is a toy here that you want to play with yourself or definitely want your kids to play with.
One of the toys that we were introduced during the NYTF was the lLets Imagine Elmo from Hasbro.  You may remember me screaming from the rooftops that this little guy would be THE Elmo for your kids this Xmas and I was right!  Elmo comes with three hats that unlock different imaginary themes and modes. He is small, interactive and above all else Elmo- you can't lose.

Another great item coming out will have kids and adults alike interested in is a new version of the classic game Simon.  Simon Swipe is a modern spin on one of my favorite games of all time.  The Transformers Age of Extinction is another one on the lineup I am not surprised to see. This Age of Extinction Stomp and Chomp Grimlock converts easily into a Dino with one easy step, making it an obvious toy for under your tree this year.  For the Littlest Pet Shop fan in your life the new fully customizable and stackable set will be a perfect fun-filled addiction to your child's life.
Crayola has the toy to beat with the Tweens this year.  Parents my age will remember playing with fashion plates that you mixed and matched then rubbed with colored pencils to make your own outfits.  Well crayola is combining creating your own outfits with their supplies, while  actually watching them walk down your own virtual runway with the Virtual Design Pro Fashion Collection.  Even better they have a car version for the guys in your life--getting to see them speed down the racetrack.
While we are walking down Nostalgia Lane, my husband as well as countless others are going to be thrilled to see that Funrise Toys are bringing back Pound Puppies in all their '80s glory.  Backtracking into their original type packing these adoptable puppies are ready to go home with you--and to utter amusement they even have the heart embroidery on there tushes.. Yes!
Jakks Pacific has a great selection of toys that are listed for great prices.  From their crazy popular singing Elsa Doll to the beautiful Sofia The First, your little princesses will have a lot to scream about when they unwrap that gift!  And can we talk about this three foot Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle for a second.  It's amazing!  Only sixty bucks and this guy is durable, has moving arms and storage in the shell- sold!

The Mommy's Guide Meets The Voices And The Minds Behind The New TMNT

I love running The Mommy's Guide- I really do.  I love meeting new people and connecting with brands I love. But right now I am completely besotted because I had the great opportunity to meet the people behind the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television show on Nickelodeon.  That's right I got to interview the voice of Donatello, Rob Paulsen, and Greg Cipes, the voice of Michelangelo along with executive producers Ciro Nieli and Brandon Auman.  We met at the beautiful Toys R Us in Times Square and it was fantastic.

Rob Paulsen is an amazing voice actor that has been in the industry for years.  He was in the original TMNT series as the voice of Raphael and now has come back years later to reintroduce the franchise to a new generation.  Before the actual interview we met Mr. Paulsen and shared a couple of words. Guys he is awesome!!!  I was super excited to meet him as he is literally the voice of my childhood.  Besides TMNT he was the voice of Pinky from "Pinky And The Brain" and "Animaniacs" as well as Boober from the cartoonized version of "Fraggle Rock".  It takes a lot for me to be nervous in front of someone.  I mean it is my job to meet people known or otherwise, but I found my hands actually shaking as we took a selfie together.  I grew up with the characters he portrayed and some of my favorite memories are of watching those shows with my friends and family and here was the 3D and humanized version of those characters! Dream come true.
So like I said we talked a bit before the actual interview and spoke of how he came to work on the new TMNT series.  Like all fans when we hear that one of our beloved shows or movies are being remade our go to feeling is...nooooooo.  Well when Mr. Paulsen's son heard that his father was asked to voice a turtle in the new show, he needed to know that this show was going to be just as good as the original that he grew up with and that his father worked so hard on.  After watching a couple of episodes his son, as for a large amount of the TMNT fan base, gave his dad the go ahead and we are so excited that he did! .

TMNT Splash Blast Water Ball!

Adding a new ninja-esque edge to the game Hot Potato, Little Kids toy company has come out with a great new game to fill your summer afternoons.  Easy to use, with no balloons required, all you have to do is add water!  After you add the water,  the timer will start ticking. Pass the TMNT themed ball back and forth until time runs out and you get splashed! Now I don't know if that is really "losing" per say on a hot summer day, but yes that is how you lose the game. Great with just a couple of kids or a whole slew, you will have the best backyard parties with this simple and easy to play game out on your lawn.

This is easy enough for a five year old to do on their own; the only real issue is it is a hard plastic ball, so adult supervision is suggested or there may be tears if the kids get too "into" the game.  Overall though the toy is very well made, the cartoon is spot on to the character it portrays and it is one of those no-brainer buys.  The fact that it has no balloon inside adds to the positive feelings because it cancels out that nagging choking hazard, and annoyance of always having to fill up the balloon after each game.

I love it, my kid loves it, and I cannot wait to get a pile of children over here to play this summer, because you know FOR SURE this is not one of those games you are going to get Mommy to play. I CANNOT take the pressure!

Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Summer Toys!!!

Nickelodeon is certainly bringing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle line up a notch this summer with a line of fun new toys to suit any child of any age! From action figures to fishing poles, if your kid is obsessed with TMNT you will have no problem fitting it into their everyday use.

First up is the TMNT Brita hard-sided filtering water bottles. I am IN LOVE with this item. This is a 15oz refillable water bottle that is kid sized as well as approved. With the TMNT printed on the side this built in filtered bottle makes great tasting water from any source. It is BPA-free, hard sided, and dishwasher safe. PERFECT for car, pool and beach trips, or for the family on the go. You no longer have to dig in your purse for the $1.50 for a water bottle, or worry about your kids sucking down "gross" water from the fountain. Just pour the water in the cup, when you child sips through the straw the water will be cleaned before it touches their lips!  The filter is good for approximately 2 months of use or 40 gallons of water- whatever you reach first. Your kiddos will love having the fun cup as their go to drink source while you will fall in love with the convenience! We already have bought two more for ourselves!

The Brita water bottle will be the perfect pair to the No Tangle Fishing Poles by Lil Anglers that are now available TMNT style.  This is an adorable little fishing rod (that every kid on LI needs if you ask me) that will make your little one feel like a super cool big kid while sitting at your favorite fishing hole!  Made for beginners in mind, this pole includes a tangle free online rod and reel that actually prevents line bunching while fishing. Imagine a day of calm waters and NO
